What age is a toddler hip carrier for?

From about 9 months, once your child can sit unaided. For younger babies, choose a front carrier: the Comfort Fit is suitable from newborn and the Lite from about 3 months.

Is a hip carrier hands-free?

No. It’s worn over one shoulder as a carry assist for short periods, not a fully hands-free carrier, so keep a hand on your child.

How is it different from a front carrier?

It’s made for quick, short carries, ideal for toddlers who want to be picked up and put down often. It’s more compact than a structured carrier, folds small and goes on and off fast, especially when travelling. For longer carries, use a front carrier such as the Comfort Fit.

How do I put it on and care for it?

Follow the step-by-step guide and video in our toddler hip carrier instructions. Spot clean or hand wash gently with mild soap and water, then air dry completely. Don’t machine wash, tumble dry, bleach or iron.
